I'm not going to buy Grand Theft Auto VI on any of the consoles. I didn't buy a PS5 Pro to play games at only 30 frames per second. I didn't buy an XBOX Series X to play games at only 30 frames per second. I don't even like playing games that are below 60 fps because I don't use a television with VRR. I'm not going to get tricked by Rockstar Games into triple-dipping a game ever again.
I already made that mistake with Red Dead Redemption 2, and 30 frames per second just doesn't cut it. Once I played the superior PC version, I didn't even touch the Ultimate version I bought on console afterwards.
There are rumours that GTA 6 will be released on PC in February 2027, and if I can wait three whole months, I will then get the superior PC version. Even if the rumour is fake, I won't mind waiting a year or more to get the PC version. I have a tonne of games that will keep me busy until I can get the visually superior version. My backlog of games is gigantic. I'll probably dive back into Crimson Desert, or Elden Ring, or any the hundreds of other games, that I haven't fully played through yet. Not to mention Marvel's Wolverine on PS5 Pro, or Gears of War E-Day on XBOX Series X, which actually do run at 60 frames per second.
The hype is real, and while I only feel a tiny bit jealous of people who have already pre-ordered it for console, I'm not convinced to pre-order it myself unless there is verified proof, that the game can run at a locked 60 frames per second on current-gen consoles. I think alot of people are getting suckered in by the high-quality still images only.
